IRAN GREENAccording to Habibollah Asgharowladi, the head of "traditional" right-wingers inside the Iranian Parliament, the National Unity Plan, "devised by some members of the Expediency Council", has been submitted to the Supreme Leader. He said all are waiting for Ayatollah Khamenei's critiques.

Details of the Plan will not be revealed at the present time because, as Asgharowladi puts it, "the enemy [Editor's Note: Who is the enemy?], who has superior listening capabilities, might be able to get hold of it soon" and possibly derail it.

To the Editor: Rafsanjani is considered a friend, that much is clear. Note Asgarowladi's full statement: "I'm not at liberty to reveal the details of the Plan because Ayatollah Rafsanjani himself hasn't, due to the fact that the enemy, who has superior listening capabilities, might hear it before friends do."

It should be clear that the enemy is AN, Mesbah Yadzi and the other bunch of fanatics of the Hojjatieh.

Re Mousavi Interview of October 18, 2009:

Oh Boy, the man lacks Charisma. He is not a good communicator or it could be my western culture who wants people to get to the point in a minute or two. He, however, save the day in his closing remarks which I thought brought the point home, at least for me. In closing referencing the Unity Plan, Mousavi said Unity Plan will be meaningless if the government does not acknowledge that there are fundamental problems in the country and continue dismissing people who demands their rights and demand to be heard by calling them rabble-rouser and as long as the government does not respect people; our problems will not go away and unrest will continue. In other word, Unity Plan or not respect the constitutional rights of people, e.g. Section 27 that gives people the right to protest as long as they are not armed.

Megan,

Thank you. Can anyone help us with a general summary of the remarks?

The Supreme Leader is still kicking, and there's a plan. But it doesn't seem likely that the Unity Plan, in practice, will guarantee civil rights for the people.
http://wp.me/s4bl7-si" rel="nofollow">The Supreme Leader is still kicking but:

Alive, he haunts the reins of power
like a donkey wildly kicking

Dead or alive, the Ayatollah holds the keys
to Persian limbo, his nod
the whip of an overseer

Like a fatwah, he haunts
the jailers' psyche, and
lets the guards
perform their evil sodomy

Everyone has heard
the rumors of truth:
all the prison abuse

I thought I heard old Karoubi say
many patriots are still in jail. Their
guards are godless scum, the
rapist with portfolio, the
overseers given imprimatur to print lies

There's a plan, but
for those defiled
compromise is too late
injuries too great

The ghost of complicity
will linger in publicity
for the dead and alive
