Being of a certain age, I can remember the original Sesame Street version of this tune (which follows this newer, Iran-friendly version). Can't say I ever expected it to take on such political significance

Who doesn't love Kermit ! A special thanks to Jeffrey Horowitz. I have a friend who lived in Iran and still has a relative there and he was the first to explain to me the ayatollahs and the deposition of the Shaw. The Shaw started to give away land and food directly to the people and the ayatollahs saw their power lessening and the rest as they say is history. So I feel the US must help the people vs. the ayatollahs, the revolutionary guard, and the military, and the secret police.
