It looks like he was suffering from PD, Parkinson’s disease, a neurodegenerative disorder. The tremor in his right hand is visible. Does anybody know what other illnesses he might have had?

If the date of this video is correct, he does not look like a man who is going to die in his sleep a month later. I would have liked to see a list of his medications and a toxicology report on blood sample, liver, hair, and other tissues following autopsy results.

I heard Sazegara saying few days ago that his children didn't want an autopsy ! I think they are wrong and even Mr Nourisadeh in VOA has said that his die was suspect !

Ange,

I have a theory about his death as well as that young Kharizak doctor. If my theory is correct, autopsy would not have shown anything and that is why this particular prescription drug is a drug of choice for criminals. Toxicology, however, providing samples are taken within the first 24 hours of death will be conclusive. His body as I saw in the video and the normal color of his facial skin and the manner of death supports to my theory.

Well, I am going to sign off soon and head to bed in a few, it is almost 4:00 AM my time. Hope you enjoy the holiday. Take care.

Megan, Ange,

Did IRGC want to silence the Grand Ayatollah Montazeri ? Oh , I think we all know the answer to this question . Now would they do it in the holy month of Moharram ?
..and, as such so that his seventh day of mourning would coincide with "Ashoura" ?
so that no one needs to have a permit to demonstrate and in "green" S'il vous plait !!! claiming justice for "Hosein" ?
Well , this looks more like a plan that only the Almighty is capable of ....
May God bless his soul and may us all learn from him and never lose our faith neither our courage , never to hesitate to do "mea culpa" and never give up to seek the higher grounds .

Yes Khamenei killed Montazeri, Khamenei destroyed Khomeini's picture, hell Khamenei killed Khomeini so he could become Supreme Leader. In fact Khamenei just had those Shiite pilgrims in Syria and Iraq killed as well since they were secret Green Supporters.

The same folks who accuse the Supreme Leader of taking opium are obviously smoking even better stuff and mixing it with alcohol obviously.

Peace Maker,

I was mindful of your second question. I thought about it and felt eliminating him during Mohrram especially on the third of Mohrram would really be shooting yourself in the foot. Then again if you look at the stupid actors in this regime and consider all the confusion, cross-talks, power struggle, and the regime imbecile foot soldiers, it would not be the first time they have shot themselves in the foot and it will not be the last time. To rest my case, I present you with some questions; why would anybody in the right frame of mind cheat with such wide margin to win an election? Not only that, why would they invite the entire world press to watch the election campaigns and the excitement of electorate? Or why wouldn’t they, at least, give the opponent the vote majority in his hometown? They could have attempted to give the appearance of legitimacy to a fraud election, could they not? Would you not agree they are a bunch of dumbbells from top to bottom?

Looking at it at different angle, would it be possible that the regime might have calculated that many people would use your line of reasoning and would not point finger at them for this one?

The point I was making in my original post was not who, if any, murdered him or if even he was murdered. But it was to raise questions about the sudden death of a person in his sleep, a person whom for his age does not look very ill and definitely not near death. Not knowing all of his diagnosis, his state of health, his lab results or other clinical tests, all of his medications, it is impossible to know if he did or did not die under suspicious circumstances.

I questioned Montazeri’s death so that we stop accepting events around us without questioning and analyzing them. Vigilance is an effective method to deter criminal activities.

Scott, you might want to take a look at this. It is in Persian so you need translation. Not sure if this is real, but it is definitely written by a military officer.
