Mohammad Taghi Karroubi was finally granted a visit on Wednesday with his parents in their apartment, "which has been turned into a full scale prison by security forces".

Mojtaba Vahedi, in an interview with BBC Persian, has added that the Karroubis have not had any access to newspapers, radio, or television since their house arrest, and their medications were not given to them for two weeks. Vahedi said Karroubi was in good spirits and claimed that if Karroubi is released, he will stand on his positions with more determination than before.

Ahmadinejad: God Will Take Care of the Election

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty picks up on an extract from a speech by the President on Wednesday, in which he reassured officials not to fret about the 2013 election to succeed him: "Several friends had come and were saying, 'We're worried about the future.' I said, 'The future has been decided, go do your work, the result will come.' [One of them] said, 'Who's the next one?' I said, 'Do you think God doesn't know who's next?' He said [yes, he knows]. I said, 'So why are you sad? The time is over when they could rule people through factional games.'"
