Syria Video Special: The Assault on Lattakia

Since Friday, the Syrian regime seems to have a new target, Lattakia, on the coast of Syria, where larger and larger protests have been forming since the start of Ramadan, or even before. On Sunday, between 23 and 25 people have been reportedly killed.

Security forces are reportedly surrounding the Almhati mosque:

In Hama and Deir Ez Zor, it was tanks that were primary weapon against the city. In Lattakia, it is gunships off of the coast that seem to have done the most damage:

Heavy machine gun fire and smoke rises over Lattakia today:

Tanks and heavy vehicles are also being used in the assault:

Syrian naval gunships are deploying off the coast, then shelling the city:
